Additive manufacturing (AM) is changing how we make everything from dental crowns to luxury cars, and potential new applications are emerging by the day. However, to make an AM workflow efficient and cost-effective, having the right software is vital.

At Oqton, we’ve developed a portfolio of products for automating and optimising a broad range of production workflows and technologies, and we’ll demonstrate some of these at 3D Systems’ Open House day on August 10th.

The event brings together leading 3D printing professionals in one of the largest metal additive manufacturing locations in the US, the Littleton Customer Innovation Center, in Colorado. Visitors will have an opportunity to discuss challenges, solutions, and best practices in AM, and see sample parts produced with cutting-edge AM solutions for aerospace, propulsion, medical, dental, automotive, and other industries.

Oqton’s team has decades of AM experience which they will pour into useful presentations about:

  • How to maximise machine output with 3DXpert? Sridharan Hariharan, Oqton’s Director of Customer Success, will show the capabilities of our industrial all-in-one software that automates production so that you can focus on value-adding tasks. Sridharan will focus on how parametric modelling enables success in CNC post-production, DfAM tools for new applications, and using AI to reduce repetitive manual tasks. With real-life examples and practical advice, this session will touch on highly engineered parts as well as serialized production.
  • How to automate workflows in dental laboratories with an AI-powered Manufacturing Operating System. Dental labs are achieving impressive returns on investment with our Manufacturing OS, and Patrick Strohkirch, Oqton’s Director of Sales NA, knows exactly how. Patrick will explain CNC milling and 3D printing automation, including aligner production and metal printing RPD frames with our Manufacturing OS.
  • Digitisation, digital twins and you: How to leverage 3D scanning with Design X and Control X. Sean Parker, Oqton’s Customer Experience Evangelist, will examine the current state of contact and non-contact measurement tools, and the power of creating a digital twin. Learn how to transform quality inspection and product design in a live demo of Oqton’s software for reverse engineering and inspection.
  • How to increase the efficiency of your AM healthcare workflow with D2P and Freeform. We’ve developed the industry's most comprehensive organic design solution – and it tackles complex modelling problems faster than traditional CAD systems. Kevin Atkins, Oqton’s Product Manager for Freeform and D2P, will demonstrate how to use these solutions in a complete healthcare 3D printing workflow.
