Introducing Geomagic Design X Go, Plus and Pro: 3D reverse engineering for any budget

The ultimate scan-to-CAD solution brings new plans to meet the needs of price-sensitive customers.

Geomagic Design X has long held the leading position in 3D scanning due to its powerful functionality, tight scanner integration and experienced support network. To enable more manufacturers to embrace this technology, we’re introducing a three-tiered product plan offering, starting from $1,900 a year. Anyone can now get Geomagic Design X, whatever their workflow complexity or budget.

The plans were created with your needs in mind. Over the years it’s become apparent that a one-size-fits-all solution doesn’t work. As the scanning market has matured, the types of scanners have diversified, with a noticeable increase in entry-level options suitable for small operations. Scanning software should mirror the same variety of options.

The plans will enable new entrants to get their reverse engineering projects off the ground and simplify upgrading to more advanced versions as requirements grow. Here’s an outline of the key capabilities of each:

Geomagic Design X Go

A new product plan for users at the beginning of their journey in 3D scan-based reverse engineering or work only with simple parts. Prices start at an accessible $1,900 a year.

This plan encompasses the tried-and-true tools you would require for solid and surface modeling, mesh and point cloud editing and more. Perfect for handheld scanners, this plan gives you interoperability with any CAD software products with Live Transfer.

Geomagic Design X Plus

Are you routinely reverse engineering complex parts? You could considerably speed up your workflow with the additional features that come with the Plus plan. We’re talking about an enhanced set of tools for more control over meshes and additional tools for modeling, surfacing and accuracy analysis. You could also capture scan data directly inside Design X by using the scanner plugins and probing tools.

Geomagic Design X Pro

If you want to reverse engineer without limits, Design X Pro is the solution. Its toolkit allows you to go from scan to CAD faster than anything else on the market.

The advanced modeling, mesh processing and surfacing tools allow you to model complex organic and hybrid models. If you’re processing a lot of similar parts, you can set up automated workflows to substitute repetitive manual tasks with tools for scan and batch processing. The Modeling Wizards and Auto Sketch shave off hours of design work.

And there is a whole host of other features that make it easy to create design-intent models from intricate parts exclusively available through the Pro plan.

Here’s an in-depth look into some of the advanced scan tools available in the Pro plan, including Roll/Unroll.

Democratizing 3D reverse engineering

3D scanning has transformed manufacturing workflows enabling designers to create parts and engineers to fabricate them in record time. While the initial investment required meant some smaller operations missed out on this technology, the new Geomagic Design X plan will make it more accessible. As that operation’s projects diversify and expand, it can upgrade to a version that meets their need
