It’s a yearly highlight in the additive manufacturing (AM) community, and a unique opportunity to see ground-breaking innovations as well as your favourite AM doyens. We’re talking about Formnext 2022, of course, an AM and 3D printing exhibition taking place from the 15th to the 18th of November 2022 in Frankfurt am Main, Germany.
Oqton’s team will be there in style! We made a herculean effort to give you an exciting experience this year. Join us at booth F41, hall 11.1 to meet knowledgeable AM experts, to see cool parts and customer success stories, and get an interactive guide through manufacturing. Here are a few highlights. Drum roll, please!
A wide range of AM organizations are using our Manufacturing OS for its MES capabilities. You can experience how they optimize and streamline production in a virtual walkthrough that takes you from scheduling, through expert and automatic build preparation, to remotely starting machines with custom dashboards and reporting.
Take a closer look at some of the amazing parts created with our industry-leading AM software. Heat exchangers (like the ones below) are high-performance applications that can be difficult to manufacture without the right software. 3DXpert is an industrial AM solution that makes the process simpler with hybrid modelling capabilities. Implicit representations can handle complex intensification structures (e.g. TPMS) and conformal ISO grid lines, while solid BRep models enable a frictionless connection with intakes, outlets, and the rest of the device body.
If you'd like a crash course in making heat exchangers with 3DXpert sign up for a masterclass with Kirill Volchek, Chief Technology Officer at Oqton. You’ll learn how Kirill used hybrid modelling in 3DXpert to ensure manufacturability, combining history-based BRep workflows with implicit geometries and slice data. Join a session on Wednesday, 16 Nov, at 2PM or on Thursday, 17 Nov, at 11 AM. Each session has limited seats, so register now!
These brackets demonstrate how the right supports can mean the difference between failure and success in Laser Beam Melting (LBM). The bracket on the left got unstuck because there weren't sufficient supports holding it securely to the build plate. On the right, we have a bracket successfully manufactured with the help of Amphyon, our simulation software that offers automated support generation.
Lattice structures have many uses in manufacturing. They can make parts lighter, stronger, improve heat transfer or bone ingrowth – like in the hip cups in this demonstrator. With AM you can make implants like these in one step, from one material and define the porosity exactly where it’s needed. This demonstrator was designed in 3DXpert, which has special DfAM tools for lattice design, and printed with a cobalt-chrome alloy.
In addition to the parts, we'll be demonstrating aerospace brackets, volumetric lattices and more.
We strive to help manufacturers increase efficiency and innovation, and nothing speaks to this quite like real-world examples. At Formnext, we’ll have a Customer Experience zone to show you how businesses from a range of industries, successfully leverage Oqton’s solutions.
