Oqton is founded

Oqton was founded in San Francisco, USA, by former Autodesk executives.

First AI-driven software solution for a self-driving factory launched, focused on the future of manufacturing.

Oqton headquarters were established in Gent, Belgium.

2020

Launch of Manufacturing OS

Oqton launched a cloud-based Manufacturing OS, focused on the future of manufacturing.

2021

Acquired by 3D Systems and adding 3DXpert

3D Systems (DDD) acquires Oqton as an independent software subsidiary and Oqton adds 3DXpert to software lineup.

3DXpert started in 2015 by former Cimatron (CAM/CAD) team, leveraging existing Cimatron CAD infrastructure. It was launched as a full commercial product in September 2016 at IMTS.
2016: Launch of the first version, focused on build preparation for metal powder bed fusion.
2017: Bundling 3DXpert with 3D Systems DMP printers and adding core Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM) capabilities.
2018: Integrated the Amphyon build simulation engine from Additive.Works to enable accurate build prediction.
2019: Expanded capabilities to include build preparation for non-metal powder bed printers.
2020: Launched the 3DXpert hybrid geometry engine, introducing powerful implicit design capabilities.
2021: Acquired Additive.Works and their Amphyon simulation product.
2022: Integrated with the Oqton Manufacturing OS (MOS); Amphyon technology is fully assimilated into 3DXpert.
2023: Launched Build Inspection, an in-situ AI/ML-based solution for real-time root cause analysis.
2024: 3DXpert is now the preferred solution in the market by Additive Manufacturing Engineers, supporting a wide range of printers and workflows.

Oqton entered the energy sector in partnership with Baker Hughes

Industrial Additive OEM partnership established with Trumpf, Xact Metal, Farsoon, Castor, and Twikit

Launched Build Inspection

Oqton launches Build Inspection as part of 3DXpert. Leveraging machine learning to detect printing anomalies.

Launch AMVero

Oqton Launch AMVero, an on premise and cloud solution for InSitu AI/ML based and real time build monitoring to identify anomalies and intelligently define alerts and reports.
