Oqton is looking for an Intermediate Application Engineer to help customers across the United States get the most value from its additive manufacturing software solutions, including 3DXpert, Oqton MOS, and AM-Vero.

In this customer-facing role, the successful candidate will work closely with Sales, Customer Success, and Product teams to deliver technical demonstrations, guide software evaluations, and support successful deployments.

This position requires a combination of strong technical knowledge and clear communication skills, serving as a trusted advisor as customers evaluate, implement, and optimize their additive manufacturing workflows. The role involves travel of up to approximately 33% within the United States for customer visits, training sessions, and industry events.

• Deliver technical product demonstrations of 3DXpert, Oqton MOS, and AM-Vero to prospective customers and partners.
• Support the sales team in technical evaluations, proof-of-concept projects, and customer discussions.
• Assist prospective customers during software evaluation periods, providing workflow guidance and technical validation.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for customers using the software.
• Conduct customer training sessions, both remote and onsite, covering product capabilities, workflows, and best practices.
• Develop and maintain application examples, demo parts, and technical demonstration workflows.
• Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and industry events, delivering product presentations and live demonstrations.
• Collaborate closely with Sales, Customer Success, and Product teams to support customer engagements and ensure successful deployments.
• Provide customer feedback and market insights to the product development team to help shape future releases.
• Assist in creating technical documentation, training materials, and application notes.
• Support strategic customers in optimizing additive manufacturing processes and workflows using Oqton software solutions.

• Degree in Engineering or a related technical field, such as Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Materials Engineering.
• 5 years or more of hands-on additive manufacturing experience, specifically with Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF).
• Practical experience with additive manufacturing workflows, including build preparation, process setup, and production.
• Strong 3D CAD skills and a solid understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM); familiarity with Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM) is an asset.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with a structured and analytical approach.
• Comfortable presenting to groups, conducting training sessions, and representing the company at customer meetings and industry events.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to approximately 33% of the time within the United States.

• Hands-on experience with 3DXpert for build preparation, support generation, and process optimization.
• Knowledge of AM simulation tools and production workflows in industrial sectors such as automotive, aerospace, medical, or industrial manufacturing.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Customer Success, Product, and R&D, in a software or SaaS environment.
• Prior experience supporting US-based customers in a field or applications engineering capacity.

• This position is based in the United States.
• US Citizens or US Permanent Residents are strongly preferred due to customer and travel requirements.
