Geomagic, 3DXpert, and Amphyon – now developed by Oqton

Whether you’ve been a customer, partner, or a follower of ours on social media, you may have noticed some changes in the past months. Some of you might know that Oqton was acquired in November 2021 by 3D Systems – a move which ushered in exciting developments.

Our top priority is to keep you in the loop and put emphasis on the importance of communication with our customers and partners!

A notable change following the acquisition of Oqton is that all 3D Systems software has been transferred to Oqton, for us to develop and support. This includes the Geomagic portfolio – Design X, Control X, Freeform, Wrap, and D2P – along with 3DXpert, and Amphyon from metal simulation experts Additive Works.

What does this mean for the future of Geomagic, Amphyon, and 3DXpert? Oqton’s dedicated and focused product development teams will ensure these industry-leading solutions are continuously improved and enhanced, maintaining our machine-agnostic approach. Expect to see more frequent releases aimed at giving you better performance, user experience, and functionality.

At Oqton, we’re thrilled at the opportunity to become custodians of these world-class products and deliver the capabilities that you need to improve your manufacturing efficiencies. That’s why we’ve been busy with:

• Building a dedicated software-focused Product Development organization
• Developing integrated and frequent product releases and update packs
• Establishing a specialist software-specific sales and support team that combines decades of manufacturing knowledge and experience
