We are excited to announce that a new version of Geomagic for SOLIDWORKS is here, making reverse engineering faster and easier than ever before.

Version 2023.2 comes with a host of new features that deliver more efficient and streamlined design workflows. Best of all, this release supports SOLIDWORKS 2023, alongside previous versions 2019 to 2022.

Geomagic for Solidworks

The software integrates with SOLIDWORKS via plug-ins and enables users a straightforward path from point cloud to complete CAD design file, directly inside of their SOLIDWORKS environment.

The Geomagic for SOLIDWORKS 2023.2 highlights

The main features of the new version include:

Fill Bridge Command

If you were thinking that filling complex holes and achieving watertight mesh models from scan data is a bit of a pain, we would agree. Now we’ve added a new command, “Fill Bridge”, that allows you to create polygonal bridges that connect two or more edges in a mesh.

Filter Outlier Data

The import dialog now includes a new option, “Filter Outlier”, which allows you to verify the bounding boxes of long-range scan data. This option enables you to filter out outlier data during the import process, to ensure a clean and accurate import ready for further processing.

Auto Surface Improvements

This command has been improved to increase data processing capabilities, and allow for surfacing of meshes that include two or more separate shells.

Delete Small Components Option

The new “Delete Small Components” option has been introduced in both the Wrap and Merge commands, to enable the automatic deletion of small groups of free-standing points that could potentially interfere with these processes.

Other improvements

On top of the above highlights, we have also implemented several other UI/UX and miscellaneous improvements to aid your reverse engineering. Get the complete release notes for Geomagic for SOLIDWORKS.
